San Diego elopements can be as diverse and unique as you'd like - between the beaches and mountains, art scene and many breweries, San Diego offers the most adventurous, outdoor friendly wedding opportunities.
And I am here to guide you through all the world famous as well as secret locals only spots (if you are a native San Diegan reading this - please forgive me for divulging our secrets - they are just too good to keep to myself!)

Some of my Favorite Locations for
San Diego Elopements
1. Torrey Pines Natural Reserve
Beach plus pine trees? I feel like this place really captures what San Diego is all about, that mix between nature conservation and biodiversity - all within a few steps. Permits are easy, parking is medium and the views are beyond.
2. Balboa Park
History & architecture meet nature conservation at this famous urban park. I think Balboa can easily be a whole day adventure or be tied into a series of other galavanting locations. It's a San Diego gem for a reason and I would love to show you my favorite corners that I think coorelate to your values and interests.
3. San Diego County Administration Center
If you haven't noticed already, I love the duality of San Diego elopement locations. Right across the street from our courthouse, lies the Embarcadero marina and a few minutes later is Seaport Village, an old school San Diego date night spot on the water. Whether you want to go sailing, dancing or try out some firey hot sauces - you can easily make it happen without a commute taking away from the magic of your day.
Some of my Favorite Eloping Activities for San Diego
1. Bonfire on the Beach
There's nothing more San Diego than Ocean Beach or La Jolla bonfires with a hoodie on right after an epic day enjoying the sunshine.
2. Mountain Biking or Beach Cruising
Race through Mission Trails and before heading out to meet with family over some fish tacos, wake up early for a bike ride along Mission Bay or bike through Encinitas to check out the farmers market.
3. Paragliding before jumping into the ocean
The gliderpoint with the best views of the cliffs and the nude beach below (seriously) makes for a perfect adrenaline activity for your elopement. And if you prefer to hike down to the beach, let me show you the secret hike down the windcaves.
4. Hiking to Potato Chip Rock
It's a classic for a reason! Hike out to this point that's a hilarious photo opt to send to your loved ones back home.
When to Get Married In San Diego
1. Spring
It's wildflowers season! I love spring in San Diego! Be mindful that us locals have a name for "May Grey" and "June Gloom" for a reason as the marine layer comes in. But the clouds are part of the magic of San Diego and can clear up depending on the day.
2. Summer
The best place to summer in my opinion. It can get hot inland, but usually we still have a breeze by the coast. I love the long days and the endless options for exploring San Diego.
3. Fall
If you come to San Diego in the fall, I highly recommend a visit to Julian to get some apple pie or pick pumpkins. Fall might still have warm temperatures, this is still southern california. Fall months in San Diego are perfect for weddings and going on adventures.
4. Winter
Since our winter is still pretty mild, it's a great time to elope in San Diego. There might be some days that have a little chill or rain. But it really is a special sunny wonderland. Also winter sunsets? Is there anything more magical?
Tips for Eloping in San Diego
1. Don't worry about what others think
San Diego is a location that allows you to explore no matter what the season is, so you don't have to wait for that one perfect week of weather and fight the crowds for your iconic photo opt.
2. Think BIG
San Diego might be a city, but there is literally a mountain bike path and a creek right outside my door. San Diego offers opportunity for family and freinds to join you for part of the day as well as more private experiences.
3. Enjoy the Sunshine
No matter where you live, you might be craving sunshine. San Diego is perfcet for winter elopements so you can enjoy 79 degree sunshine even in the middle of February.
4. Work with an Expert
Experience the version of San Diego that sits right with you - whether that is a hidden hike, a hippie drum circle or the perfect spot to catch the sunset without the crowds.
