The Timeless san diego county administration center and Balboa Park Elopement - Cole and Victoria

Updated: Mar 22

Cole and Victoria decided on the timeless San Diego elopement at the San Diego County Administration Center. After their vows, they walked around the Embarcadero and headed over to the historic Balboa Park to galavant through the trails, drink a beer in the sculpture garden, enjoy the art at the Timken Museum of Art and explore the newly refurbished Botanical Building.

They have a beautiful love story - meeting at college and soon taking off to travel and volunteer all over the world, move across the country, start new businesses, and still be able to make it to every family event. They have magical chemistry, and it was so much fun to witness their fun-loving spirit.

Getting Ready & Thoughtful Details

I love how they helped each other get ready right outside of the San Diego County Administration Center; you could tell how much they enjoy each other’s company in the most simple of ways. Cole wore a watch gifted to him by his dad and helped Victoria fasten her shoes and jewelry that sparkled in the sunlight.

A San Diego Elopement Ceremony

The San Diego County Administration Center is located right across the street from the marina boardwalk, known as the Embarcadero, which makes for such a unique location to tie the knot. Cole and Victoria wanted to say I do under the bougainvillea-covered “Wedding Hut,” which is hands down the coolest courthouse wedding location. There were tears and lots of giggles as these eloquent lovebirds expressed how much they mean to each other.

After Ceremony Portraits by the San Diego Marina

After their touching vows, we took some sunny San Diego photos in front of the courthouse and crossed the street the Embarcadero. As much as this elopement felt timeless, I couldn’t help but appreciate how timestamped weddings are - whether it’s the fashion, photography styles, or the Tesla driving by, wedding photos always capture far more than just the people and landscapes.

Balboa Park Exploring and Beer Tasting

Just a short drive away is the 1,200-acre urban park that holds so many of my childhood memories and is by far the best example of the richly ornamented mixture of European and Spanish architecture. Balboa Park is a classic for a reason - since 1835, making it one of the oldest public recreation spaces in the United States. And just recently, the Botanical Building was refurbished to pay tribute to its original all-wood style - did I say timeless or what? Cole and Victoria walked through the gardens, taking in the moment together, Roamed the halls of the art museums, and enjoyed a beer by the sculpture garden.
